Book MEME [Apr. 26th, 2008|06:29 pm]

After being away for a few days, I am still catching up on all my email/LJ stuff.
I found this Book MEME on my friends list [catling and madfilkentist].

Grab the closest book and open to page 123, find the fifth sentence and write the next three sentences.

“We should hit an art supply store. Maybe you’d like to try your hand at a picture, something smaller to hang on the wall upstairs. Maybe a self-portrait. The vampire in this looks familiar.”

(I will hold up posting the name so you guys can try to name the book in question... I know one person on my f-list who might guess it).

In a medium shallow bowl soak the mushrooms in 3/4 cup cold water 30 minutes or until softened. Drain and squeeze dry, resevving the soaking liquid. cut off and discard the stems and thinly slice the caps.

"'To serve man'...it's...it's...a cook book!", correct? :-) [Sorry, couldn't resist]

edit: I believe the idea is to post it in your journal.

Indeed; i didn't feel like doing the whole meme, but had The Breath of a Wok by Grace Young and Alan Richardson in my bag. I recommend it if you have an interest in Chinese cooking. Lots of woklore and recipes and beautiful photography.

Yes, I figured it was a cook book :-) and I do love Chinese food and mushrooms, but I am not a cook. True, I can do a lot of nice stuff with a microwave - I even can cook chicken - but the stove and I are not on speaking terms :-) I will keep the book in mind if things change.
