|With great sadness I have to report that.....

Base on a text/info I got from her friend Suli
Our friend Alice E. Washburn, fondly known as Badger / badgerthorazine,
passed at 2:06 pm, 2/21/67-12/26/11.
She was not alone.
What awful news. I'm so sorry.
I mourn her passing, but have confidence her way is easier now. Peace to her, to you, and to us all. :(
I feel the same way. All the earthly pains she had are now gone.
HUGS to you

I too mourn her passing. She will be missed.
I'm going to miss her. Many *hugs* to you Larry and her family.
Oh no. I'm so sorry. She was nicer to me than anyone deserved to be. Do you know if there'll be a memorial at Arisia?
I hear the filkers are planing something and Arisia, Boskone, and Lunacon.
I have not heard from ConComm at Arisia and Boskone yet but this years con chair at Lunacon said they would plan a memorial for her.
Well then, I shall continue my tradition of attending filk memorials for friends who have passed away. The only other filk event I have attended was for Greg McMullen :(
Oh ghods above and below, this is terrible news, for us at least.
Badger, if us missing you is the cost we must pay for you to be free of pain and the relentless grip of gravity, well, consider it far more fully funded than any TAFF or DAFF.

Badger, a.k.a. Alice E. Washburn
I am very sorry to hear of Alice's passing. She was one of the early people I knew in Rhode Island / Massachussetts during the late 80s and early 90s when I was first coming out, who made welcoming space for a scared 18 year old. Here's a pic that she was in, at the MIT Student Center, when a bunch of us stayed over there during a regional conference at BU...
Thank you for passing along the photo.
