Hi Lawrence,

You signed the petition calling on the FDA to approve Plan B for over-the-counter use. Now help us push the FDA a little harder! Turn up the pressure on the FDA by forwarding your friends this email or sending them the petition!

Thank you for signing the petition "FDA Schedules Vote on Plan B - Make This Time the Last!" on ThePetitionSite.

Over 15,000 people have joined you in calling on the FDA to stop its stalemate and make Plan B available over-the-counter. But we want the FDA to hear us loud and clear. So, please take one more step and forward this email to your friends and family who care about ensuring that women have the right to choose! -------------------------------------------

Approving the morning-after-pill, or Plan B, for over-the-counter use has been on the FDA's To Do list since 2003.

So why are women still waiting? Serious partisan pressure from anti-choice leaders and the Bush Administration (who nominated the current FDA commissioner into power) has led the FDA into a voting stalemate that has lasted for three years.

But recently, news broke when the FDA announced that it is re-starting its decision-making process on Plan B. Now, we're calling on YOU to take action and ensure that this is the LAST petition on Plan B approval you ever have to sign.

A brief history on this politically tumultuous process: Despite FDA experts' own findings that Plan B is a safe and effective contraceptive method for women AND their recommendation that it be approved for over-the-counter use in 2004, anti-choice politicians have successfully delayed the FDA vote since, eschewing multiple threats from Congress to make a decision.

The FDA's announcement that it is planning a vote shows great hope for every woman who wants better access to emergency contraception.
Sign the petition urging the FDA to follow through on its promise!

NARAL Pro-Choice America is using this opportunity to rally support from women all around the country to ensure that the FDA votes, once and for all, on making Plan B available for over-the-counter use.

Join them in urging the FDA to support its own internal recommendations and finally take action to increase women's access to Plan B! Go to: http://go.care2.com/e/mNE/pX/PBC_

Thanks for your help today.

Lauren Alvarez,
Care2 and ThePetitionSite Team

PS. Can you believe it has taken the FDA three years to vote? It's no wonder that the Food and Drug Administration's top official in charge of women's health resigned last year in protest. Don't make women wait any longer. Send the petition to everyone who stands for a woman's right to choose: http://go.care2.com/e/mNE/pX/PBC_
