From what I have read so far, I am beginning to approve of the demotion too. [But Just think of all the text books that have to be rewritten.]

On top of it the International Astronomical Union changed the definition of what a planet is, so it look like we might have 3 new ones to replace it.

As Pluto was demoted, i believe that they created a planet sub-class called a pluton, which comprises Charon (it and Pluto are a binary), Ceres, and 2003UB131, tentatively Xena.

The webpage states that the decision establishes three main categories of objects in our solar system.
* Planets: The eight worlds from Mercury to Neptune.
* Dwarf Planets: Pluto and any other round object that "has not cleared the neighborhood around its orbit, and is not a satellite."
* Small Solar System Bodies: All other objects orbiting the Sun.
Time Warner Cable in NYC will be talking about it tonight at 9PM on a show called "The call" [http://NY1.com/TheCall]. I wil watch it, maybe it will give me more insite.
